The Overflow of the Shinet Afaf Spring Unexpectedly used for Irrigation

Ato Tegene’s son Haile is one of the beneficiaries of Shinete Afaf spring developed in Oromia National Regional State, Ginbichu woreda, Jegol kebele, Shinet Afaf village by AEID the fund support from Mennonites Central Committee Ethiopia from April 1, 2016-March 31, 2017. Haile Tegene is a brave young man who is married and has a child. He has agricultural land which is located near to the spring developed to address clean water for the villages downstream.

West Gojam Zone Mecha woreda, Amhara Region

Animut Worku Alamnie. He was born in 1989 E.C/1997G.C. in West Gojam Zone Mecha woreda, Felege Birhan Kebele, a rural kebele that is 60 K.Ms far from Bahir Dar City. He has been a double orphan child. His family were farmers and had four children. Animut is the 4th child of his family. When he was 4 years old, he lost both his mother and father due to Epidemic diseases that swept their village. After that life became very challenging for Animut, his sisters, and his brother. As a result, they were obligated to scatter into different places leaving their home.

Enjibara town, Amhara Region

Yihun Wolle Checkol was born in Tillili Town in 1991 E.C/1999G.C. He lost his father when he was 1 year old. He did not know his father very well. After he lost his father, carrying the family members including his brothers and sisters is put on his mother’s shoulder. The family had no means of income; because of this they were obligated to go to Enjibara town and started living with his mother's parents when he reached school age, he enrolled at Bawnk Elementary School but his grandparents didn’t have enough income and it was very difficult to fulfill the basic needs of children including educational materials.
